Origin of International Dog Day
International Dog Day, commonly known as IDD, was established in 2004. It was established by a popular animal welfare advocate, Colleen Paige. She chose 26 August, a day when her family adopted their first pet dog. At the time of adoption of their dog, Colleen Paige was only 10 years old.
